SCHOOL INTRODUCTION

YDC was established in 1948 as a dressmaking school. Now, students can learn visual design, manga and fashion design. As there are many international students who come here, the school has an established support network to help international students with their Japanese language skills and life in Japan.

COURSE INTRODUCTION

By working together with local companies, students will learn everything they need in order to be a designer, including how to use software, what it's like to work as a designer, how to improve ideas, how to do presentations, etc.

Fashion Department
COURSE INTRODUCTION

Students learn how to make clothes in their first year. By the second year, the course is split into design and business, where students will deepen their knowledge and techniques. There are two big fashion shows held at the school each year.

Manga Department
COURSE INTRODUCTION

Students create their own characters and stories. In the Comic Illustration and Children's Books Course, students create illustrations and picture books. This course is aimed at helping students debut as professionals, so students will publish a lot of their work.

Comprehensive Japanese Department
COURSE INTRODUCTION

This course is for students who want to improve their Japanese skills. In the Practical Japanese Course, students will learn business Japanese, trading and bookkeeping in order to help them find a job in Japan. In the Preparatory Course for college and graduate school, students improve their Japanese language abilities so they can attend colleges and graduate schools in Japan.
